Surge Micro-credentials are the fastest, most innovative way to get ahead. Surge specializes in curating training to boost your skills when you don’t have the time or budget to enroll in longer study. Micro credentials are designed to be short, focused learnings that accelerate your skills in a specific area. For each credential, you earn industry-recognized micro-credential and/or micro-learning digital badges. Skill up faster by learning in weeks, not years. Most offerings can be completed in less than a month. Surge Micro-credentials are designed with top-tier industry partners, so your skills are relevant and in demand.
Each micro-credential consists of micro-learnings, which are building blocks designed to progress your knowledge and skills. Mirco-learnings include text, audio or video content. There are opportunities to practice through scenarios, guided practice, knowledge checks and quizzes.
Each micro-credential is unique in structure and can take from 2-15 hours to complete.
After you’ve completed the course content, you can return to the micro-credential for review for as long as your Saskatchewan Polytechnic ID is valid.
Surge Micro-credentials range in price and are priced individually. International rates do not apply.

If a quiz is present, you’ll have unlimited attempts to demonstrate you have mastered the competency.

Once you’ve earned your badge, head to the micro-credential landing page in Brightspace. In the top navigation bar, click on Assessments then Awards. Follow the instructions for Badgr Backpack that appear on screen. You can now fully interact with and share the badge on social media or add it to your resume.
Each Surge Micro-credential has requirements that must be met to receive a digital badge.
