Mining Digital Upskilling Pilot Project

If you are an employee already in the mining workforce and an International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) member, you can upskill to gain the digital skills training you need to address the technology shift the mining sector is experiencing.

Mining Digital Upskilling Pilot Project

The Mining and Minerals Industry is experiencing a rapid evolution, as advanced technology and automation become interwoven in standard operational practices. While this technological evolution improves productivity and efficiency, it creates a shift in the skills-need, leaving many employees displaced from the work environment and with a gap in skills to adapt. However, the shift in skills-need presents an opportunity to train employees to adapt to the changing work environment.

If you are an employee already in the mining workforce and an International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) member, you can upskill to gain the digital skills training you need to address the technology shift the mining sector is experiencing. Courses are offered in an asynchronous, self-paced, flexible, online learning environment.

About the project

The International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic digital upskilling pilot project will provide digital skills training to address the technology shift the mining sector is experiencing. While this technological evolution improves productivity and efficiency in the mining industry, it also creates a need for upskilling employees to keep up with digital advances. This pilot project is funded by IMII and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Immigration and Career Training.
